报告描述

The three main livestock & poultry species in China are live hog, broiler and layer, and the report mainly conduct an analysis and forecast on these three species in 2012 and 2013. .

China’s livestock & poultry industry represented the following features in 2012:
(1) Live hog prices continued to decline, but live hog farming still won a tiny profit. The price of layer eggs kept on decreasing during the first half of 2012 and rose to a high level in the second half, the daily profit of layer farming was 5.0 RMB/100 birds. Broiler prices in main producing provinces ranged at 7.5-10.0 RMB/kg and rearing profits were in lower-middle level.
(2) Large-scale livestock & poultry leading enterprises are extending the industrial chain, and building farming bases nationwide, and the level of livestock and poultry industry integration further improves.
(3) With the expansion of middle and large-scale farms and the exit of free-range households and even small-scale farms, the proportion of scaled livestock and poultry farming increases rapidly.
(4) With the gradual expansion of livestock and poultry farming scale, there are more increasingly prominent issues such as farming costs, land, environment and food safety.

Livestock and poultry industry will develop rapidly in the next 3-5 years, focusing on quality improvement instead of quantity growth, and it will be during the period of transformation, integration and upgrading.

This report conducts systematical analysis on production, processing and market price and trade to hog, layer and broiler industry, and meanwhile conducts research on supply and demand balance of pork, meat and poultry eggs.
